Stacey Ellis, Pence Elevator Manager

My name is Stacey Ellis and I’m the new manager at the Pence Elevator.  I grew up in Lane County, KS and moved to Scott County in 1994.  I worked for Loren Janzen for 19 years farming.  The last 4 and half years I’ve worked for Dannie Bahm Farms.  My wife and I live in Northwest Scott County and have 2 grown boys, Dylan and Devin.
When the opportunity came up for me to do something different, but still be able to stay in the agriculture industry, I decided that it was time for a change.  Working for the Coop has been an opportunity for me to have regular hours and spend more time at home working on the things that I enjoy.  I have a small farm and raise a variety of different animals.  I have been in farming all my life and serving the farming community will be an honor.  I have an understanding of the farmer’s point of view, which I feel will give me great insight and make the Coop an asset to the Pence community.
During my first month we have been moving some milo out to get things ready for wheat harvest, cleaning up some things, and doing maintenance on the elevator.  Wheat harvest is fast approaching and we will be ready when that first truck pulls in.  Stop in, have a cup of coffee and say Hi.
