Midday - November 20, 2008

Corn

During midday session, December Corn futures are trading lower to its opening price. The outsides markets once again are having a heavy influence on the direction of corn futures, due to its relationship to ethanol. USDA reported this morning that last week's export sales for corn was 433,787 mt.

Soybeans

January Soybean futures are trading lower than its opening price resulting from lower prices in crude oil futures trading during the midday session. USDA reported that soybean export sales for last week was 790,854 mt.

Wheat

December Wheat futures are trading lower than its opening price this midday session. Wheat exports sales for last week was reported at 510,976 mt by the USDA this morning.

Cattle

USDA Cattle on Feed report and Cold Storage report are coming out on Friday, and a little short covering should creep into the equation. Live cattle futures are trading higher than the opening price, but feeder cattle futures are trading lower than the opening price. US exports sales for cattle last week was reported 4,249 mt. Morning boxed beef cut out values: Choice 158.55, Select 147.28.

Hogs

December Lean Hogs futures are trading sliightly higher to the opening price during midday session.

Cotton

Cotton futures are trading lower than the opening price this midday session. USDA reported that export sales of cotton for last week was 202,417 running bales.
